On-task monitoring is currently in
BETA. If you would like to test On-task monitoring in your organization please contact
our Customer Success team.
Overview
On-task Monitoring uses AI to help teachers keep track of which students are on-task or off-task. Teachers simply enter their daily learning objective into the system and the AI will intelligently identify the status of each student in their class.
Enabling On-task Monitoring for the Class
- In an active class, click on the On-task Monitoring icon in the toolbar.

Enter the objective you would like the students to be concentrating on in the
Class Objective field.

- Click Enable.
- You will now see the learning objective at the top of the class and buttons showing the status of the various students in the class:
- Focused
- On-Task
- Possibly Off-Task
Off-Task

Using On-task Monitoring
- Clicking on each status will bring that student(s) thumbnail into direct view for monitoring.

- When a student is off task a red notification icon will appear at the top of their thumbnail.

- When a student does not have a browser open or the LanSchool Air extension is not installed, the student thumbnail will display No extension On-Task Monitoring paused.

- To change the learning objective click Update next to the learning objective.

- To turn On-task Monitoring on or off for certain students, click on the View Actions icon on the student thumbnail and click Manage On-task Monitoring and click Turn on/off On-task Monitoring.

Providing Feedback
To provide feedback about On-task Monitoring's accuracy click on the View Actions icon on the thumbnail and click Manage On-task Monitoring.
If On-task Monitoring did not accurately show that the student was Focused, On-task or Off-task please click on the appropriate feedback.
For example, the learning objective was "Students will be researching information about outer space" and On-task Monitoring marked a student as On-task when they were viewing a space video game site. The student would technically be Off-task.
