How do I prevent teachers from creating their own classes?

A Site Admin can enable Disable manual class creation under LanSchool Air Settings > General. This prevents instructors from creating new manual classes.

Can I restrict teachers to one class containing only their classroom's student PCs?

Disabling manual class creation prevents instructors from creating their own classes. However, this setting alone does not restrict access to specific student devices. Review your class rosters and organization configuration to ensure instructors have the appropriate students in their assigned classes.

How do I prevent teachers from adding any student PC to a class?

Enable Disable manual class creation to prevent instructors from creating manual classes and selecting student devices for newly created classes. To control which students instructors can access, ensure their available classes and rosters are configured appropriately.

Can instructors still use rostered classes after manual class creation is disabled?

Disabling manual class creation does not disable roster integrations. Instructors can continue using supported rostered classes according to the organization's configuration.

Can I hide classes that teachers created before manual class creation was disabled?

Yes. Enable Hide all manual classes created by instructors along with Disable manual class creation.

Who can disable manual class creation?

Only a Site Admin can change this setting for the organization.

How do I prevent instructors from adding or accessing student PCs outside their classroom?

If instructors should only use classes containing students assigned to their classroom, a Site Admin can disable manual class creation.

1. Log in to LanSchool Air as a Site Admin.
2. Open the menu in the top-left corner and select LanSchool Air Settings.
3. Select General.
4. Enable Disable manual class creation.

This prevents instructors from creating new manual classes and selecting student devices for those classes.

Important: Disabling manual class creation does not automatically restrict instructors to specific student devices. Review your class rosters and roster configuration to ensure instructors have access to the appropriate students.

If instructors can still access student devices outside their classroom after manual class creation is disabled, contact LanSchool Air Support for assistance reviewing the available access controls.

Why can't instructors see the classes I created or invited them to join?

If instructors cannot see manually created classes on their LanSchool Air dashboard, the Hide all manual classes created by instructors setting may be enabled.

To resolve this issue:

1. Log in to LanSchool Air as a Site Admin.
2. Open the menu in the top-left corner and select LanSchool Air Settings.
3. Select General.
4. Locate Hide all manual classes created by instructors.
5. Disable this setting.
6. Ask the instructors to refresh their browser and check their class dashboard again.

When Hide all manual classes created by instructors is enabled, manually created classes are hidden from instructors, even if the classes are configured to show on their dashboard.

Note: This setting is separate from Disable manual class creation. If you want to prevent instructors from creating new manual classes while allowing them to view existing manually created classes, enable Disable manual class creation and disable Hide all manual classes created by instructors.
